10 Major Retail Stores Take A Stand To Say “Merry Christmas” Instead Of Happy Holidays

It appears that many big named retailers are taking a stand this year. There are stores that have decided on completely closing up shop for Thanksgiving.

Many more stores are grasping the concept of hanging Christmas decorations right after Thanksgiving, getting right into the season of jingles.

There was a time where the term “Merry Christmas” was avoided in professional settings, especially storefronts. This was mostly due to politics and general stores attempts to avoid and discrepancies from the public as well as the press. It is not rare to find companies tiptoeing around lingo and touchy phrases to keep the public happy, as well as their sales rates.

This year, there must be something in the air because there are multiple retailers that are doing their part to change the game. Retailers across the world are gearing up with their holiday cheer to cheerfully supply the public with their needs. “Merry Christmas” is certainly a term that loving Christians love to see. Well, a Merry Christmas it will be, with the help of major retailers such as Hobby Lobby, Nordstrom, and Home Depot are stepping out on faith with their holiday promotions and joyful greetings. Some stores have reportedly played lovely Christian music as well while sticking to the biblical script and shutting down for rest days on Sundays. Belk is another store that is in the Christmas spirit, they have been proudly greeting their customers with a “Merry Christmas,” as well.

10 major retailers have gladly taken a stand and greeted their customers with a “Merry Christmas.” Walmart is another Christmas loving store that has actually received a five-star rating from the American Family Association. Bass Pro Shops is a gun shop that celebrates and promotes Chrismas. They also have been promoted by the American Family Association. Along with Macy’s and JCPenny has gotten in on the holiday action too. Macy’s hosts a great holiday parade year after year. While JCPenny’s has the wonderful Ellen Degeneres hosting some of their ads and, both of these departments stores happily promote the terms “Merry Christmas.” ToysRUs is known for its notorious greetings and if you live near one that is still in business you should stop by and spread some holiday cheer.

It is very nice to see a change occurring right before the eyes of the world. People are resonating with this adjustment in a very positive fashion. Holiday cheer is wonderful for uplifting spirits and bringing people together. It does really make a difference to be greeted by a joyous “Merry Christmas” here and there. You never really know how many people you can cause to smile in a day’s work. These companies are definitely setting good examples.
