After flexing their muscles against Covid lockdowns, truckers across the country are beginning to boycott deliveries to New York City in response to a whopping $350 million civil judgment against former President Donald Trump.
The legions of Trump-adoring long-haul drivers began speaking up after state Judge Arthur Engoron handed down a shocking decision alleging the Trump brand inflated the value of its assets to unfairly leverage lucrative business deals. The family’s real estate empire, valued around $1.5 billion, would be decimated if forced to pay the full amount.
“I’m just one of the many millions of Truckers who believe in God and love this Country,” a trucker known as “Chicago Ray” wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “I stand with Trump bc Trump stands with me. Truckers for Trump ain’t just a slogan, it’s real,” he wrote.“I’ve been on the radio talking to drivers for about the past hour, and I’ve talked to about 10 drivers,” Ray wrote.
“I don’t know how far across the country this is or how many truckers are going to start denying loads going to New York City, but I’ll tell you what — you f— around and find out,” he said.On TikTok, the account “survivaljunkie2” told followers he just got a call from dispatch that shipments to their New York location were being halted as of Monday morning.
“I just received a call from a company I was getting a load from, and they said they don’t have any loads going to New York,” he said. “So if you in New York, you won’t be receiving anything from these drivers.”The term “Boycott NYC” was trending on X Sunday night as more than 13,000 posts flooded in about the anticipated shutdown.
