Woman turns 104 while also celebrating America’s birthday

ST. JOHNS, Mich. (WILX/Gray News) – A Michigan woman celebrated her 104th birthday while also celebrating America’s birthday.

Emily Davis of St. Johns turned 104 on Thursday.

She was born on July 4, 1920.

Davis credits her long life to good genetics from her mother, who lived to be 97.

Her advice is to enjoy the life you have and surround yourself with great friends and family.

“Try to enjoy what you have, and live a life that is fairly content with your situation that you’re living in and the people that you associate with, too,” Davis said. “It’s good to have close friends to talk to and enjoy besides your family.”

Davis said she spends most of her time nowadays listening to audiobooks.

She spent her 104th birthday surrounded by friends and family.
